Edit the fitments on a part

How to review, remove and note a part's vehicle compatibility, undo with Reset to Original, and push the tidied list to eBay with Revise. Vehicles cannot be added by hand.

What editing a part's fitments does

GridX Connect works out a part's vehicle compatibility for you, so editing is about tidying the list, not building it. In the Vehicle Compatibility card you can remove vehicles you don't agree with, write a note against any row, and then push the tidied list to your eBay listing.

There is one thing editing does not do: you cannot add a vehicle by hand. The editor only removes rows and adds notes — there is no add-a-row or add-vehicle control anywhere on the card. The list is worked out from the part number when the part is created, and the editor can only work with the vehicles GridX Connect already proposed.

FitX will not help here either. FitX works only on eBay listings that were *not* created in GridX Connect — parts you added here are deliberately excluded from it. So if a part is missing vehicles it clearly fits, the options are to describe the difference in the Notes column, or contact support with the part number so we can look at why the match came back short.

Saving your changes updates the part, not the live listing. To send the new compatibility to eBay, you Revise the listing afterwards.

> [!WARNING] > There is no add-a-vehicle button, by design — editing a part is limited to removing rows and writing notes. FitX is not an alternative: it only processes eBay listings that GridX Connect did not create, so it can never add vehicles to a part you added here. If vehicles are missing, use the Notes column or contact support.

Before you start

  • Inventory edit rights (company admin or staff) — both roles can edit fitments.
  • The part open in Inventory, scrolled to the Vehicle Compatibility card.
  • The part's main edit mode switched off — Edit Fitments is hidden while you're editing the rest of the part.
  • If you sell on two or more eBay marketplaces, decide whether you're editing the US or UK list, because they're separate.

Steps

  1. Open the part in Inventory and scroll to the Vehicle Compatibility card.
  2. If you sell on two or more marketplaces, pick US or UK at the top of the detail tray. The card re-scopes to that marketplace's list.
  3. Click Edit Fitments (top right of the card). The list unlocks for editing.
  4. Remove any vehicle you don't agree with using the red trash icon on its row. The last row can't be removed — the icon greys out with the tooltip "At least one fitment must remain".
  5. Add a note to a row in its Notes box ("Add note...", up to 500 characters). Typing past the cap stops with no warning.
  6. To put the same note on every row, type into "Enter note to apply to all fitments..." and click Apply to All; to wipe every note, click Clear All Notes. See the control table for exactly what each does.
  7. Click Save Fitments. You'll see "Fitments saved" and an amber Edited pill appears on the card.
  8. Revise the listing to send the new compatibility to eBay — saving alone doesn't change the live listing.

The controls, and what each one does

Undoing your changes

There are two ways back, depending on whether you've saved.

  • Before you save, click Cancel. It drops every change you've made in this edit session — with no confirmation, so use it deliberately.
  • After you save, open Edit Fitments again and click Reset to Original. It asks "Reset fitments?" and warns "Your edits will be discarded and replaced with the AI-generated originals." Choose Reset to rebuild the proposed list; you'll then see "Fitments reset to originals". Reset to Original only appears once this marketplace's list has been saved as edited — for changes you haven't saved yet, use Cancel.

Editing US and UK separately

A part's US and UK compatibility are separate lists, so the marketplace tab you're on decides which one you're editing. Switching tabs mid-edit with unsaved work brings up "Discard unsaved changes?" — "You have unsaved [marketplace] fitment edits. Switching marketplaces will discard them." — with a Discard & switch button. Save first if you want to keep the work.

Saving a marketplace's list flags only that marketplace's listing as needing revision. After a save the card returns to the eBay US view, so if you were editing UK, switch back to the UK tab to carry on there.

Pushing your changes to eBay

Saving updates the part in GridX Connect; it doesn't touch the live listing. The listing is flagged as needing revision instead, and you send the change up by running Revise on it — from the part, or in bulk by selecting items in Inventory and choosing Revise from the bulk-actions bar. Until you Revise, buyers still see the old compatibility. If a Revise is rejected, read the reason shown on the item's Failed status, fix what it points to, and run Revise again — there's no separate retry action.

If something goes wrong

  • The trash icon is greyed out. You're down to the last row, and its tooltip reads "At least one fitment must remain". A part has to keep at least one vehicle. To take the compatibility off entirely, end or edit the listing on eBay.
  • You tried to save with no rows left and saw "At least one fitment must remain". Keep at least one vehicle on the list, then save.
  • The list won't load — "Failed to load fitments". Close and reopen the part, then try Edit Fitments again.
  • The save didn't take — "Save failed". Check your connection and press Save Fitments again.
  • You saved, but eBay hasn't changed. Saving only updates the part. Revise the listing to push the new compatibility to eBay.
  • The UK tab says "Not listed on eBay UK yet." The message reads "Publish this item to eBay UK to generate and view its K-Type fitments." Publish the part to eBay UK first; its UK list is generated then, and you can edit it after.
  • You need vehicles that aren't on the list. The editor can't add them, and FitX cannot either — FitX only works on eBay listings that were not created in GridX Connect. Note the difference in the Notes column, or contact support with the part number.
