Find parts and run bulk actions

Use the attention bar, search, filters and sort to find the right parts in your inventory, select rows across pages, and run any of the bulk actions such as Publish, Price and Labels.

Your Inventory page is where every part you have added lives, and it is also where you act on many parts at once. This article covers the tools for finding the right parts — the attention bar, search, filters and sort — and the bulk-actions bar that appears once you tick some rows.

The find tools only change what is shown on screen; they do not change your data. The bulk-actions bar does change things — your parts, or the eBay listings behind them — and most of its actions run against every row you have selected. So it is worth understanding how selection works before you reach for it.

A couple of things this page does not do. It does not add new parts (use Bulk Upload or the add-a-part flow for that). And the separate Bulk Update control in the toolbar — for changing price and stock in a spreadsheet — is a different tool that is not part of the selection bar described here.

> [!NOTE] > The attention bar sits across the top of the inventory list, under the toolbar. The bulk-actions bar is different: it only appears after you tick at least one row, and it slides away again when you clear your selection.

Before you start

  • You are signed in and on the Inventory page.
  • You have parts in your inventory — the find tools and bulk actions have nothing to work on otherwise.
  • Some actions are admin-only. If you are not an admin, actions such as Publish, Revise, End and Delete will not appear in your bulk-actions bar.
  • To publish or revise, your eBay store must be connected on the Channels page.

Steps

  1. Narrow the list. Type in the search box, open Filters, or click a chip in the attention bar to show only the parts you care about.
  2. Sort if it helps. Click a column header such as Price or Title to reorder the rows.
  3. Set how many rows show at once using the page-size selector: 25, 50, 100 or 250.
  4. Tick the checkbox on each row you want. Tick the header checkbox to select the whole page, or use the Select all N items in inventory link to reach across every page.
  5. The bulk-actions bar appears at the top. Choose an action — for example Publish, Price or Labels.
  6. Confirm any dialog that opens, then watch the row status change or read the toast that reports the result.

The attention bar and its chips

The attention bar is a row of counts that helps you jump to the parts that need work. On the far left is a Total figure — the number of parts in view. This is a label, not a button, so it does nothing when clicked.

To the right sit the coloured chips. Each shows a count and a short name. Clicking a chip filters the list to that group; clicking the same chip again clears the filter. You will only see a chip when at least one part falls into it, so the exact chips — and the order they appear in — depend on the state of your inventory.

> [!WARNING] > Clicking an attention chip clears your current selection. If you have ticked rows ready for a bulk action, act on them first, because switching to a chip (or changing the Category filter) starts your selection over.

Search, filters and sort

Search. The search box carries the placeholder Search by SKU, title, or part number... and matches on any of those. It waits a moment after you stop typing before it runs, and a clear (X) button appears once there is text in it. Searching does not clear your selection.

Filters. Click Filters (it carries a small badge counting how many you have applied) to open the panel. The dropdown filters are:

  • eBay status — All eBay Status, Live on eBay, Ready to Publish, Failed or Needs Images.
  • Brand — pick one or more (Select Brands, Clear All).
  • Condition — All Conditions, New or Used.
  • Shipping — by shipping policy (All Shipping Policies, plus a Default option).
  • Date — All Time, Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days.
  • Category — pick one or more (Select Categories, Clear All).

Below those are five insight toggles that cycle through three states — off, include, then exclude: Fitments, Sales, Market Priced, PartSnap and Revision. A Reset All link clears everything at once. If you sell on more than one eBay marketplace, a channel selector also appears so you can view a single marketplace.

Out-of-stock parts are surfaced through the Out of stock chip on the attention bar rather than through a stock dropdown.

Sort. Sorting is done by clicking the table column headers on desktop. Each click cycles the order: first click sorts by that column, a second click reverses it, and a third click returns to the default of newest-first by date added.

The default order is by date added, which has no clickable header. When you sort by date modified you will see the note Activity tracking is new — items not yet edited show "—" and sort last.

Selecting rows and the 3,000 cap

Tick a row's checkbox to select it. Tick the header checkbox to select every row on the current page. To reach further, use the Select all N items in inventory link, which selects every part that matches your current search and filters, across all pages.

The selection summary tells you where you stand — for example 12 of 50 selected, 12 selected or All 50 items selected — and a Clear link drops the selection. Changing the page keeps your selection, so you can gather rows from several pages before acting. Un-ticking any single row switches off the "all pages" mode.

There is no limit on how many rows you can select, but a single bulk action runs against at most 3,000 parts at a time. If you run Publish on more than that, the app publishes the first batch and shows the toast Publishing the first 3,000 with the detail N ready — re-run to publish the rest. Run Publish again to continue with the remainder. Other bulk actions handle large selections in batches for you. Bulk Research is the exception — it processes up to 100 parts per run.

The bulk-actions bar

Once at least one row is ticked, the bulk-actions bar appears. These are all the actions it can hold, in the order they are placed. Admin-only actions do not appear for team members without admin access.

There is no Retry or Republish in this bar. To retry a part that failed, re-run Publish (or Revise for a live listing). On a narrow screen the bar keeps Publish, Revise and Edit to hand and moves the rest into a More menu; on desktop, actions that do not fit collapse into the overflow (⋮) menu.

"Errors", "Failed" and "Publish failed": one problem, different words

When eBay rejects a part, the app describes it with different words depending on where you are looking. They all point to the same thing — the part did not go live — so do not read them as separate problems.

The Errors chip is the group; the Error, Failed and Publish failed labels are how a single affected part reads. To find out why a part failed, open it and read the message shown — the app displays the reason eBay returned, in eBay's own words, rather than rewriting it. Correct the part (for example a missing field, an invalid category or a missing image), then re-run Publish or Revise.

If something goes wrong

Connect eBay first / Open Channels to link your eBay account. You tried to publish or revise before connecting a store. Go to the Channels page and connect eBay, then try again.

Publishing the first 3,000 / N ready — re-run to publish the rest. Your selection was larger than a single publish run allows. The first 3,000 are on their way; run Publish again to continue.

Error / Failed / Publish failed on a part. eBay rejected the listing. Open the part and read the message shown — the app passes eBay's own wording straight through, so the exact text and fix come from eBay. Common things to check are that every required field is filled, the category is valid for eBay Motors, at least one image is uploaded, and your eBay connection is active. Fix the part, then re-run Publish (or Revise).

Needs images. A part with no photo shows an Add images option in place of Publish. Add at least one image, then publish.

Your selection disappeared after filtering. Clicking an attention chip, or changing the Category filter, clears the current selection. Re-select the rows you need. Searching or changing other filters leaves your selection untouched.
