How to enable the eBay UK marketplace on your existing eBay account, set UK business policies, price in GBP, and publish parts to eBay US and eBay UK as separate listings.

What selling on eBay UK means here

GridX Connect can list your parts on eBay UK (ebay.co.uk) alongside eBay US (ebay.com). Both run off the same eBay seller account — you do not create or link a second account. You connect eBay once, enable the United Kingdom marketplace, and then choose which marketplace each part goes to.

Selling on eBay UK is not the same as copying your US listings across. Each marketplace is its own listing, with its own status, its own price and its own vehicle compatibility. Ending or revising the US listing does not touch the UK one, and the reverse is true too. You also choose your shipping, return and payment policies per marketplace, not once for both.

Your stored (canonical) price is always in USD, and eBay bills in the local currency of each marketplace — USD on eBay US, GBP on eBay UK. Unless you set a GBP price yourself, your UK price is worked out from your USD price at the current exchange rate (see *Prices and currency* below). Today the only connectable eBay marketplaces are the United States and the United Kingdom — eBay Germany and eBay Australia show as Coming soon.

Before you start

Company admin access. Connecting eBay, editing policies and publishing are admin-only. Staff members see status but no action buttons, and non-admins get "Only admins can modify" on the policy panels.
eBay already connected, or ready to connect. eBay UK uses the same eBay login as eBay US.
Your eBay UK business policies created on eBay. GridX Connect reads your shipping, return and payment policies from eBay — it does not create them. If you have none for the UK, the panel shows "No eBay business policies yet".
A seller location with a postal code. Set it under Listing Defaults on the Channels page; it applies to every eBay marketplace on your account.
Once eBay UK is connected, the extra controls appear on their own — the marketplace picker on Publish, the US | UK fitment tabs on a part, and the display-currency control.

Steps

In the left sidebar, open Channels.
If eBay is not connected yet, click Connect eBay (admin only). A picker headed Connect your eBay store opens and asks "Which marketplace is your primary store? Its business policies drive your setup — you can add the other one later." Choose United States or United Kingdom, then click Continue.
Sign in to eBay in the popup that opens. If nothing appears, your browser blocked it — allow popups for this site and click Connect eBay again. On success you see "eBay account connected successfully! Now configure your business policies."
Add eBay UK using the same eBay account. On the marketplace grid, eBay UK reads Available until it is connected, then Live; your main store carries a Primary badge.
Set eBay UK's business policies. Select the eBay UK marketplace card, then choose a Shipping Policy, Return Policy and Payment Policy from your eBay UK policies and click Save Policies.
Confirm your account defaults are in place. Your seller location (with a postal code) and your HTML Listing Policies both apply to every eBay marketplace on your account, so you set them once.
Publish a part to eBay UK. Open the part in Inventory, click Publish, and in the marketplace picker tick eBay UK (or both eBay US and eBay UK), then confirm.
Once the part is live on UK, open it and switch to the UK tab to review its K-Type vehicle compatibility.

How US and UK listings differ

Because the two are independent, you can be live on UK but not US, or the other way round. You can also end the listing on one marketplace and keep the other live.

Business policies, per marketplace

Business policies are chosen per marketplace on the Channels page. Select a marketplace card to see its policies: your primary marketplace shows them read-only, and a non-primary marketplace (for example eBay UK) opens the form so you can pick each policy and click Save Policies. To change a saved set, click Change; Cancel drops an edit.

If the UK marketplace has no policies chosen yet, you see "No business policies set for eBay UK" with a Configure policies button. If your eBay account itself has no UK policies to choose from, you see "No eBay business policies yet" and the note "Create your shipping, return, and payment policies in eBay, then come back and refresh." — use Create policies on eBay, then Refresh.

Two settings are account-wide rather than per marketplace: your Listing Defaults (seller location) and your HTML Listing Policies (the free text shown in listing descriptions). Both are labelled to "Apply to every eBay marketplace on your account." A single part can override only its shipping policy per marketplace; return and payment policies are always taken from the marketplace-level choice above.

Prices and currency

Once a non-US marketplace is connected, a Display currency control appears in Settings → Preferences with the options Auto, USD ($) and GBP (£). Its description reads: "The currency you see across GridX and type prices in. Display-only — it never changes what eBay receives (US listings bill in USD, UK in GBP) and your canonical price stays in USD." In other words, changing it changes what you see, not what eBay charges.

When you add a part or run a bulk upload on a multi-marketplace account, a listing-currency choice appears so you can set the price currency for that part or that file. You can also pre-select which marketplaces a Publish should tick by default, using the Publishing defaults card in Settings → Preferences: "Pre-select these marketplaces when you publish. You can still change them each time."

How your UK price is worked out

There are two cases, and the difference matters:

You did not set a GBP price. Your UK listing price is converted from your USD price at the exchange rate current when the listing is published. The rate is refreshed daily, so a part you publish next month can go up at a different £ figure than the same part published today, even though you never changed the price.
You set a GBP price yourself. That exact figure is used on the UK listing. Nothing is recalculated on top of it, and GridX Connect works the matching USD anchor backwards from it.

The conversion is a straight exchange-rate conversion. No VAT or fees are added on top by GridX Connect — eBay applies UK VAT itself, so a price that already included VAT would end up charged twice.

> [!TIP] > If you need your UK price to be an exact figure — to hit a round number or protect a margin — set the GBP price on the part rather than leaving it to convert. A converted price moves with the exchange rate; a price you set does not.

Publishing to each marketplace

On a multi-marketplace account, clicking Publish opens a marketplace picker where you tick eBay US, eBay UK, or both. GridX Connect starts a separate publish job for each marketplace, so each one becomes its own listing with its own status and price — there is no single combined listing.

> [!TIP] > On the Inventory row, a small channels pill (for example 1/2) shows how many of your connected marketplaces are live. Click it for a per-channel view where you can View, Publish, Revise or End each marketplace on its own.

Ending is per marketplace too. The confirm reads "End the UK listing for "{title}"?" with "The item stays in your inventory and can be republished later." — so you can take the UK listing down and leave the US one selling.

Vehicle compatibility: US vs UK

US and UK compatibility are separate lists. US fitments are matched using the eBay product identifier (shown as "matched via ePID"); UK fitments carry K-Type numbers, which appear as their own column on the part's compatibility table. When you have two or more marketplaces connected, use the US | UK tabs at the top of the part's detail tray to switch which one you are viewing — price, shipping and fitments all move together.

UK fitments are generated once the part is published to eBay UK. Before then, that tab shows "Not listed on eBay UK yet" and "Publish this item to eBay UK to generate and view its K-Type fitments." Saving UK fitment edits flags only the UK listing as needing revision, so use Revise on the UK listing to push them up.

If something goes wrong

"Popup was blocked. Please allow popups for this site and try again." — connecting eBay opens a sign-in popup that your browser blocked. Allow popups for GridX Connect, then click Connect eBay again. (If the connection itself fails you may see "Failed to initiate eBay connection" or "Failed to connect to eBay".)
"Connect eBay first" / "Open Channels to link your eBay account." — you tried to publish with no eBay account connected. Connect it on the Channels page first.
"Only admins can modify" — policy and connection changes are admin-only. Ask a company admin, or ask to be made one.
"No business policies set for eBay UK" — select the eBay UK card and use Configure policies to pick your shipping, return and payment policies.
"No eBay business policies yet" — create the policies on eBay, then use Create policies on eBay and Refresh to pull them in.
"Not listed on eBay UK yet" — the part has not been published to eBay UK; publish it there first to generate its K-Type fitments.
A publish or revise fails. GridX Connect shows eBay's own reason on the failed listing — click the failed status to read it, fix the flagged issue on the part, then re-run Publish or Revise. There is no built-in error list in the app.

If you ever disconnect eBay, the confirm warns "You will need to reconnect before publishing listings again." — you reconnect on the same Channels page.
