Understand item statuses
What every status on a part means, which ones are waiting on you, and what to do about the ones that are not.
Every part in your inventory carries a status. It answers one question: what, if anything, do you need to do to this part right now.
A status is not a judgement on the part — several of them are perfectly healthy resting states. What matters is which ones are waiting on you.
> [!NOTE] > A part has one status in your inventory, but a separate status per marketplace if you sell on more than one. A part can be live on eBay US and not listed on eBay UK at the same time, each with its own status and price.
Before it goes to eBay
These are the statuses a part moves through while it is still only in GridX Connect.

Needs images is the single most common reason a part sits and does nothing. At least one photo is required before eBay will accept the listing — there is no way to publish without one.
While it is live

> [!TIP] > Needs revision is not a failure. It simply means you changed something — a price, the title, the fitments — and eBay has not been told yet. The live listing is still perfectly fine; it is just showing the older values until you revise.
Statuses that change without you
Two of these can appear on their own, because they reflect what happened on eBay rather than what you did in GridX Connect:
- Sold out — the part sold through and quantity reached zero.
- Ended — the listing ended on eBay.
When either happens, GridX Connect updates the status and sends you a notification. You do not need to be watching the page.
When something failed

Both of these carry the actual reason from eBay behind the pill. That reason is the useful part — it names the specific field or rule that blocked the listing, which is almost always faster than guessing.
A failed publish leaves the part in your inventory untouched. Nothing is lost, and retrying after a fix is safe.
Where statuses appear
The same status shows up in three places, at different levels of detail:
- On the inventory row — a pill, so you can scan a whole page and see what needs attention.
- On the part itself — with the reason text and the action button attached to it.
- In the part's channel panel — one status per marketplace, which is the only place the per-marketplace picture is visible.
If a part looks healthy on the inventory row but you are selling on more than one marketplace, open the channel panel before assuming everything is listed. The row shows a summary; the panel shows the truth per channel.
Fitment badges are not statuses
Alongside the status, a part can carry badges describing its vehicle compatibility. These sit separately and do not block publishing:
- Engine Verified — compatibility is confirmed down to the exact engine, not just the broad vehicle. It also makes the Engine and Notes columns appear.
- Edited — the fitments were changed and saved, so they no longer match what was originally proposed. Enter edit mode and use Reset to Original if you want the proposed list back.
If something goes wrong
A part is stuck on Publishing. The status updates on its own and you can leave the page while it works — you do not need to sit and watch it.
A part shows Needs revision immediately after publishing. Something was edited between the publish being sent and it completing. Click Revise to bring the live listing up to date.
A part is Ended but you did not end it. The listing ended on eBay's side. Click Republish to relist it; the part and all its data are still in your inventory.
Sold out but you have stock. The quantity in GridX Connect reached zero. Update the quantity on the part, then revise so eBay is told.
