End a listing

Take an eBay listing down while keeping the part in your inventory. The status becomes Ended, and you can Republish to relist it later.

Ending takes a live listing down from eBay while keeping the part in your GridX Connect inventory. The listing stops showing to buyers, the part's status becomes Ended, and you can put it back up later by republishing. You can end one listing, or tick several parts and end them together.

Ending is not the same as deleting. End removes the eBay listing but keeps the part, so nothing is lost and you can relist whenever you want. Delete removes the part itself and also ends any live listing it has. If you want to keep the part, use End.

Ending does not send the part back to Ready to publish. The status becomes Ended, with a Republish control ready for when you want it live again.

> [!NOTE] > End, like Publish and Revise, is a company-admin action. Staff members can see a listing's status but do not get the End control. The eBay connection and everything about it lives on the Channels page in the left sidebar.

Before you start

  • The part is live on eBay — only a live listing can be ended.
  • You are a company admin.
  • You know you want to keep the part. To remove the part entirely, use Delete instead (note that deleting also ends any live listing and cannot be undone).

Steps

  1. In Inventory, open the live part (or use its row's ⋮ menu).
  2. Click the End control on the part's live eBay row, or choose End listing from the ⋮ menu.
  3. Read the confirm dialog. It is headed End eBay listing for "{title}"? with the message The item will remain in your inventory and can be republished later. (If you sell on more than one eBay marketplace and end a single channel, the dialog names that channel instead — End the US listing for "{title}"? or UK, with The item stays in your inventory and can be republished later.)
  4. Click End listing to confirm.
  5. The status changes to Ended and you see a Listing ended message confirming the part is still in your inventory.

When you are done, the part's detail panel shows the marketplace as Ended (or, across several channels, Ended on all channels), with a Republish button in place of End.

Relisting an ended part

An ended part keeps everything — its photos, details, and place in your inventory — so relisting is quick. On the part's detail panel, click Republish on for the marketplace you want back up; from a row's ⋮ menu, the control reads Publish to eBay. Either way it reuses the same publish action and sends the part to eBay as a fresh live listing.

Because an ended part is treated as ready to list again, the Inventory row shows it as re-publishable rather than showing the word "Ended" — the row offers a Publish action just as a never-listed part does. The Ended wording itself lives on the part's detail channel panel. Both point to the same next step: republish when you are ready.

> [!TIP] > A Sold out listing is different from an ended one. Sold out means the listing is still live on eBay but out of stock, so it offers End and Revise — not Republish — until you end it or restock. An Ended listing is fully down and is the one you republish.

Ending many listings at once

To take down a batch, tick the parts in Inventory and click End in the bulk toolbar (company admins only). The confirm explains that only parts currently live on eBay are ended and the rest are skipped, then the run tracks in the header activity bar. Parts in your selection that are not live are left alone.

If none of the ticked parts are live, you see Nothing to end. Only one bulk end can run at a time per account; starting a second while one is running shows A bulk-end is already running for this account — wait for the first to finish. If eBay's rate limit stops some listings from coming down, the run pauses and offers to retry the remaining failed listings a moment later, so you can finish the rest.

When a listing ends on its own

A listing does not only end because you ended it. When the last unit sells, GridX Connect marks the part Sold out and notifies you; when eBay itself ends a listing, the part's status turns to Ended and you get a Listing Ended notification. In both cases the part stays in your inventory, and an ended one is ready to republish whenever you choose.

If something goes wrong

The End control is missing. End is admin-only. If you can see a listing's status but no End button, you are not a company admin — ask an admin to end it, or to grant you admin access.

"Nothing to end" after a bulk end. None of the parts you ticked is live on eBay, so there is nothing to take down. Select parts whose status shows they are live, then run End again.

"A bulk-end is already running for this account." Only one bulk end runs at a time. Wait for the current one to finish, then start the next.

Some listings did not come down in a bulk end. eBay's rate limit can stop part of a large batch. Wait the short interval the app suggests, then accept the prompt to retry the failed listings so the rest are ended.

I wanted to keep the part but it is gone. You likely used Delete rather than End. Deleting removes the part and ends any live listing, and it cannot be undone. Use End when you want the part to stay so you can republish it later.
