Create one auto-part listing in your inventory from a part number — what to enter, what GridX Connect fills in for you, and every error message with its fix.

Add Part creates one auto-part listing in your inventory from a part number. You enter the part type, part number, vehicle make, condition, price and quantity — GridX Connect writes the eBay title, matches the vehicle fitments, picks the eBay category and builds the SKU.

The part is saved to your inventory as a draft. It does not go to eBay until you publish it.

> [!NOTE] > Add Part is the item with the plus sign in the left sidebar. The Inventory page has no Add button, so always start from the sidebar. You may also see it called New Listing or Quick SKU — they are the same page.

Before you start

Three things need to be in place:

  • A SKU prefix, set in Settings. Every SKU is built from it, and Process SKU will not run without one.
  • Account setup finished, including your selling channel connected.
  • The part's OE or manufacturer number — the number the manufacturer assigns, not a casting number or a stamped mark.

Steps

  1. Open Add Part from the left sidebar.
  2. Under Part type, choose OEM, Aftermarket or Private Label.
  3. In Part number, type the OE or manufacturer number — for example 8V0615601A.
  4. If the part type is Aftermarket, pick a Brand from the list. If it is Private Label, type the brand yourself. OEM parts need no brand.
  5. In Vehicle make, start typing the make and pick it from the list.
  6. Under Condition, choose New or Used.
  7. Enter your selling Price and how many you have in Qty.
  8. Click Process SKU.
  9. Click View item to open the part in Inventory, or Process another to add the next one.

Choosing the part type

The part type decides whether you enter a brand, and how.

> [!WARNING] > Choosing Used as the condition sets the part type to OEM and locks it. A used part is always OEM. If you need Aftermarket or Private Label, set the condition to New first.

GridX Connect lists parts as New or Used only. There is no refurbished condition, on this page or when you edit the part later.

What GridX Connect fills in for you

When you click Process SKU, four things are generated. You do not type any of them:

  • SKU — built from the prefix you set in Settings.
  • eBay title — written from the part number, brand and vehicle make.
  • eBay category — selected automatically.
  • Vehicle fitments — matched using the part's eBay product identifier (ePID), then listed on the part.

All four are editable afterwards from the part in Inventory. If the fitments need adjusting, open the part, find the vehicle compatibility list and click Edit Fitments — you can change notes, apply one note to every row, or remove rows. At least one fitment has to remain.

An Engine Verified badge on a part means its compatibility is confirmed down to the exact engine, not just the broad vehicle.

What happens next

The part lands in your inventory as a draft, and moves through these statuses:

  • Draft — saved, ready for photos.
  • Needs images — no photos yet, and at least one is required before publishing.
  • Ready to publish — has a photo and can go to eBay.
  • Publishing — being sent to eBay.
  • Published — live, with an item number buyers can see.
  • Published, needs revision — live, with changes in GridX Connect not yet sent. Click Revise to push them.
  • Ended — the eBay listing has ended.
  • Publish failed — the part did not go live.

To get a part live: open it in Inventory, add at least one photo in the Product Images section, then click Publish. Photos cannot be added on the Add Part page — up to 24 per part, JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, under 10MB each and at least 500px on the shortest side. The first photo carries the Main badge and becomes the main eBay photo.

Adding parts another way

Add Part handles one part at a time. For volume:

  • Bulk Upload — add many parts from a spreadsheet. Availability depends on your plan.
  • YardScan — scan a scrapped vehicle's VIN and turn it into a list of parts.
  • Quick Import — paste Shopee product links and import those parts.

If something goes wrong

Process SKU greyed out? It disables when you have hit your plan's SKU limit, and briefly while a part you just submitted is still processing. At the SKU limit the page shows a banner with a Bulk Upload shortcut.

Setup window instead of a new part? Account setup is not finished. GridX Connect lists the outstanding steps — complete those, then add the part.

> [!NOTE] > Publishing to eBay is a company-admin action. Staff members can add and prepare parts, but cannot publish, revise or end listings.
